The Hype:
Army of Two is all about online multiplayer. Sure, you can play the game alone with the CPU controlling your partner, but you'll be missing out. Other than the necessity to play the campaign mode with an online buddy, there's a multiplayer mode to push your army of two to the limit.
Why You Want To Play It:
With the ability to customize both weapons and armor, Army of Two is catered toward giving players a one-of-a-kind experience. A special-ops private contractor sat in for consultation, giving the game the closest experience to real life we've seen. The ability to plug a bullet hole with a tampon gives new meaning to a heavy-flow day.
Solider of Fortune: Payback
The Hype:
Why just shoot people when you can dismember them? The main focus in Payback is realism. The developers spent time not only shooting guns to get the look and feel of the experience down, but watching video of some incredibly gruesome acts of violence involving weapons. So when you see an arm fly off someone's body, you'll know there was some research behind it.
Why You Want To Play It:
There are a ridiculous amount of weapons in Paypack, and before you hop into each mission you can pimp out your arsenal. When you pull back on the trigger, you feel the recoil in the controller.
The Hype:
Running in DirectX 10, Crysis is one of the best-looking shooters period. Just as its predecessor Far Cry was, Crysis is an open-ended game with no set path to obtaining objectives. Other than the multitude of futuristic weapons at your disposal, you're outfitted with experimental armor, a Nano muscle suit that not only absorbs damage, but can heal, cloak and make you sprint like the Flash.
Why You Want To Play It:
The Nanosuit is one of the coolest features of Crysis, or any game for that matter. As you're taking on North Korean and alien forces, you can customize and build up your arsenal and armor. Multiplayer allows up to 32 players to shoot it out on six different maps.
