To celebrate Barry Bonds' historic achievement, we gave away a bonanza of baseball swag! Were you the winner?
For those of you who didn't know, Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's all-time career home run record a while back by belting home run number 756 at AT&T Park (just minutes away from GamePro's office). To celebrate this historic event, we decided to give away an Ultimate Baseball gift pack. One lucky winner will receive a copy of 2K Sports' MLB 2K7 for the PS3 along with an ultra-rare, limited edition baseball figure from McFarlane Toys.
This intricately detailed figure features Barry Bonds posed at the end of his majestic swing, the same swing that has, to date, launched 756 baseballs into the stratosphere. It has also produced 1981 RBIs, a career .298 batting average, 2915 career hits and an insane .605 career slugging percentage. In case you didn't know, those are some impressive numbers.
The swing that launched a thousand baseballs. Okay, it was only 756. But you know what we mean.
Regardless of how you feel about the controversy surrounding Bonds' achievement, there is no doubting that the man knows how to hit a baseball and the master toy makers at McFarlane Toys have done a great job of capturing the power of his swing.
We should also mention that the figure is incredibly collectible, as it is just one of 3000 produced for the DHL All-Star Fan Fest that was recently held in San Francisco. (NOTE: This figure is different from McFarlane Toys' 756 home run commemorative figure that they just announced).
The Contest is over now and we're here to declare a winner!
The rules wre simple: post a comment by completing the following phrase: "My favorite baseball player of all time is..." along with a short explanation why.
Once again, you received multiple entries depending on your rank, with n00bs allowed only one entry, Button Mashers receiving 2, Players 3, Ninjas 4, and End Bosses and above getting 5 entries.
The winner was then chosen by random selection from all of the eligible entries. That lucky person was...
TRUPREDATOR!!
Winner! Check your PMs to find out what to do next.
And if you didn't win, be sure to stop by the website of McFarlane Toys to check out more images of the Barry Bonds figure along with their complete lineup of amazing toys!
The packaging clearly states that this is one of only 3000 figures produced.
Here is the figure in its full packaging. It looks even better in person.
