No, this isn't Blake Snow. Blake is much hairier (we kid!)
Name: Blake Snow (GamePro News Editor)
Number of previous E3's you've attended: 2
Year your first E3 took place: 2006
What was your overall impression of this year's E3?
It would have been better had it taken place in a single larger location. A location complete with show floor, more people, in addition to the excellent intimate setting of the publisher rooms from this year. In an effort to avoid superfluous journalist fatigue, why not take some of Tuesday's crammed schedule and bump it to the lackluster Friday? Santa Monica is much nicer than downtown LA, by the way.
How did it compare to E3's of past years? Was it better, worse or just as good?
I'd say worse than last year, though not without its benefits. I'd like to see smaller attendance numbers of this year couple with the single location and bigger rooms/booths of previous E3's.
What was the most memorable moment of this year's E3? Chewbacca showing up on stage at the Sony press briefing was an unsuspected surprise. The Wii Fit came out of left field for me as well. Activision's press conference was pretty nutty as well featuring Jaime Kennedy (who bombed the first 15 minutes of his bit), Slash, and Tony Hawk. Alain Tascain singing the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" at EA's Boogie presentation was pretty funny too. And THQ's briefing featured a Go Daddy girl--the only remnant of sex appeal from year's past.
Actor Jamie Kennedy didn't win himself any new fans at Activision's press briefing.
Who had the best E3: Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony?
They all had a pretty good E3. Nintendo had a good showing with the Wii Fit announcement. Japan will blow up over this thing and I suspect many American gamers will too. I was also impressed with both Sony's and Microsoft's showing of games, though I was expecting more newly announced ones which left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. What was shown, namely CoD4 (best looking game of the show me thinks), Infamous, Echochrome, LittleBigPlanet, and Rock Band look impressive. Stranglehold looked like a lot of fun too.
Which game left the biggest impression on you?
Rock Band. Most awesome. I'd pay mucho dinero for this thing, and will probably have to...
Which game was the most disappointing?
I second Lunchbox on his Assassin's Creed reservation. The game just didn't flow as well as I wanted it too, it seems as if it's trying to be too much now with all the rumors of a new backstory, and Jade Raymond is starting to sound like a broken record with her presentations.
Did you see any games with the potential to be a sleeper hit? Why did it catch your eye?
Legendary: The Box, based solely on Tenacious Moses' gushing.

Wow. E3 was way better in earlier years. Ah, those were the cheerleaders, uh, I mean days. Days. Wow. I just got a boner. Heh heh.
