Name: George Jones (Lunchbox)
Number of previous E3's you've attended: All of them
Year your first E3 took place: 1995

What was your overall impression of this year's E3?
Very optimistic. I feel like this year, we saw three very different visions of what the future of console gaming will be. That's WAY better than the usual singular vision we've seen in the past.

How did it compare to E3's of past years? Was it better, worse or just as good?
A little of all of the above. It was better because editors had increased access to game developers and it was easy to communicate with them during game demonstrations because of the reduced noise. However, it was worse because it seemed like the general media such as newspapers weren't represented as well as in previous years. Additionally, there was a more muted environment around pretty much everything, which was good for the reasons above, but bad because it wasn't as adrenaline-inducing.

What was the most memorable moment of this year's E3? For me, it was two things:
1) The Microsoft Xbox press conference. What an amazing setting. The presentation took place with the Santa Monica sunset as the backdrop. And that outdoor amphitheater was an amazing venue.
2) The Metal Gear Solid trailer we saw at Sony's press conference. It was awesome.

The Santa Monica sunset made for a beautiful backdrop to the Microsoft E3 Press Briefing.

Who had the best E3: Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony?
I'm going with Sony. They absolutely, positively showed a bunch of unique gaming experiences, from Echochrome to LittleBigPlanet to Pain to the Home experience. It felt like the right blend of hardcore and offbeat gaming.

Which game left the biggest impression on you?
Beyond the Metal Gear trailer, it was Echochrome. I really want to play that game.

Which game was the most disappointing?
The live action Assassin's Creed demo left me concerned with the game's prospects. It was choppy, and the gameplay felt less innovative than I had hoped.

Did you see any games with the potential to be a sleeper hit? Why did it catch your eye?
I didn't see it outright, but based on the screens and the footage I've seen, Legendary: The Box is the one. The graphics are excellent but more importantly, the depiction of monsters in the streets felt unique and compelling.
