- Point Blank 2 posted on 1/1/2000
- Point Black 2's rudimentary, pixelated graphics wouldn't challenge even 16-bit hardware, and the tinny, beepy sounds are annoying as hell. Still, the sheer variety of contests, modes, and two-player games makes this shooter momentarily fun even though there's not enough here to hold your attention in the long run. When the last clip is spent, Point Blank 2 is a rental-only title....but a fun one.

- Exploding bubbles may not sound fun at first, but once you start, you'll find yourself busting a move all night long.

- Tai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger posted on 1/1/2000
- Tai Fu's strengths and drawbacks ultimately land this game squarely in the mediocre category. Rent or pass - this tiger just ain't got no bite.

- Army Men 3D posted on 1/1/2000
- Army Men tries to be all that it can be, but ultimately the game will appeal only to military sadists who have tons of patience and a real bloodthirst for killing the enemy. Sounds like a job for Major Mike.

- Baseball 2000 posted on 1/1/2000
- Baseball 2000 stays two games back, trailing Triple Play and MLB. This sim-like gameplay's challenging and fun, but it can't overcome the game's shortcomings and vanilla style.

- R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 posted on 1/1/2000
- There's enough here to thrill fans of the series, but the disappointing two-player mode hurts replay value, and unlocking the cars becomes tedious. Still, if you've got room in your gaming garage after testing Need for Speed: High stakes, R4's a solid acquisition.

- Need for Speed High Stakes posted on 1/1/2000
- High Stakes' absorbing variety of ways to play and overall polish position it as one of the PlayStation's race leaders. Sure, Gran Turismo 2 is everybody's favorite pick for 1999's racing champ, but that's not due till late summer, and Need's such a cool game that no one should pass it up.

- Street Fighter Alpha posted on 1/1/2000
- Longtime Alpha and Street fighter fans will find Alpha 3 a welcome addition to their gaming libraries. Unlike the dismal Street Fighter III, this Alpha makes counting to "three" a pleasure.

- For those of you who love the smell of burnt rubber on a Grand Prix track, but can't seem to get your racing career started, Ubi Soft presents the serious racing simulation Monaco Grand Prix for the N64.

- NHL Blades of Steel '99 posted on 1/1/2000
- Unfortunately, Blade is a rental-only title at best. If you're eager to strap on your skates, stick with NHL '99 all the way.
